Race Manager Update 1.5.0

Welcome to a new era of racing! Version 1.5.0 is our most significant physics engine update since launch. On-track battles have now become truly two-dimensional and tactical.

[NEW] Lateral Racing Physics

Cars are no longer "ghosts" driving in a single file line. We have implemented a lateral offset system and track width mechanics:

  • Tactical Overtaking: The attacking driver now analyzes "windows" to the left and right. If the car ahead is slower, your driver will pull out of the slipstream and attempt an overtake on an alternative line.
  • Intelligent Defense: Leaders now watch their mirrors! If a follower attempts an overtake, the defending driver may try to "close the door," blocking the attacker's line.
  • Wheel-to-Wheel Racing: Cars can now drive side-by-side through several corners, battling for the better racing radius.

[NEW] Skill Influence & Realism

  • Skills Matter: The "Overtaking" and "Defending" driver attributes now directly influence how quickly and decisively a car changes its line. Experienced defensive masters will block attacks much more accurately.
  • Collision Avoidance: If two cars end up in the same lane at a dangerous distance, the follower will be forced to brake to avoid a collision. Overtaking now requires finding clear space!
  • Off-Line Penalty: Driving off the ideal racing line now incurs a slight speed penalty (up to 1.5%), simulating dirty track surface and less optimal cornering radii.

[UPDATE] Visualization & Immersion

  • Car Silhouettes: When zooming in (zoom > 2.5x), driver circles are automatically replaced by detailed top-down car silhouettes in your team colors.
  • Smooth Transitions: Thanks to a new client-side interpolation system, every steering movement and lane change looks perfectly smooth at any FPS.
  • Staggered Grid Start: On Lap 0, cars are now positioned in a staggered grid based on qualifying results both visually and physically. The transition from the start to the first corner is now seamless.

[FIX] Stability & Accuracy

  • Track Widths: Individual track widths have been assigned to every circuit in the calendar (from the narrow streets of Monaco to the wide expanses of Paul Ricard).
  • Synchronization: Enhanced data protocol between server and client for near-instant display of tactical maneuvers in LIVE mode.

It's time to rethink your strategies — the track now belongs to the bold!

See you at turn one!
