Race Manager Update 1.5.3
This update focuses on strategic depth. Victory is no longer just about raw speed; it's about resource management. We've completely overhauled tire behavior and the aerodynamics of following other cars.
[UPDATE] Advanced Tire Physics
We've redesigned wear mechanics, making tire choice a pivotal tactical decision:
- Lifespan & Durability: Hard compounds can now last 50–60 laps, while Hypersofts will require a change after just 10–12 laps.
- Wear Penalty: The impact of worn tires on pace is significantly increased. At 100% wear, the pace loss can reach 35%, making a fresh Hard compound faster than a worn Soft.
- Thermal Windows: Optimal working ranges have been expanded (up to 35°C for dry and 50°C for rain tires). The "Save" mode is now a genuine tool for cooling down overheated rubber.
[NEW] Aerodynamics & Dirty Air
Battling for position is now more realistic and risky:
- The "Train" Effect: Groups of cars in the DRS zone now move slower overall than a lone car in "clean air." Constant fighting wears tires and slows down both opponents.
- Strategic Gap: If the leader manages to pull a gap of more than 1.2 seconds, they gain a clear pace advantage, while pursuers begin to lose time in each other's wake.
[NEW] Dynamic Weather & Track Surface
Races have become even more unpredictable. The track condition now changes in real-time, requiring instant reaction to the first drops of rain.
Tactical Cheat Sheet (Water Levels):
- Dry Track (0% - 8%): Ideal for Slicks. Intermediates are usable but 0.2s slower.
- Damp Track (8% - 22%): Intermediates provide a +0.05s bonus. Slicks start losing grip (-0.1s).
- Wet Track (22% - 65%): Intermediates are the top choice (+0.15s). Wet tires are also effective (+0.05s). Using slicks is dangerous (-0.6s).
- Flooded (over 65%): Wet tires only (+0.15s). Intermediates lose significant pace (-0.15s). Using slicks is deadly (-1.5s).
[NEW] The "Ghost" Phenomenon
We've overhauled the system for inactive players to make leagues more dynamic and competitive:
- Clean Ghosts: Teams that haven't confirmed participation now always appear on the grid. They don't suffer wear or spend budget while the owner is offline.
- Championship Battle: "Ghosts" now score points and influence ELO ratings. You'll have to fight for the title against "benchmark" offline teams.
- Instant Activation: As soon as you join the live broadcast, your team "wakes up": AI is disabled, and wear/rewards start being tracked in real-time.
[NEW] Smart AI & Strategic Windows
AI-controlled teams now act with greater flexibility:
- Rain Transition (1% – 15%): AI may pit for rain tires at the first sign of wetness. At 15% wetness, all "ghosts" are guaranteed to be on Intermediates.
- Wear Window (60% – 100%): The probability of a pit stop grows linearly. Aggressive drivers will risk staying out until the very end.
- Driver Personality: Cautious drivers will pit as soon as a part hits the "Red Zone," while risk-takers will ignore damage until it becomes critical.
[UPDATE] Dynamic Pit Stop Repairs
Repairs during pit stops are no longer fixed in time:
- Damage Scalability: Repairing a wing at 15% damage is much faster than replacing a completely destroyed part.
- Manufacturing Bonus: The "Manufacturing" building now provides a tangible racing advantage — each level speeds up repairs by 2.5% (up to -25% at Level 10).
- Crew Mastery: Your mechanics' consistency and fatigue now directly impact repair speed.
[UPDATE] Optimization & Comfort
- Race Smoothness: We've optimized the visualizer, completely eliminating micro-freezes and stuttering.
- Better Tire Selection: The Quick Pit menu now displays all tire types (slicks grouped at the top, rain tires at the bottom).
- Notification History: You can now view the full history of all race notifications to stay on top of critical events.
- Auto-Save: Practice and Strategy settings are now saved instantly upon closing the window.
- Contrast UI: The driver position circle color now automatically adjusts based on the car's livery.
[NEW] Progress & Economy
- Quests in Finance: Quest rewards are now integrated into financial reports and post-race results, allowing you to track all income sources clearly.
[FIX] Logic & Safety Improvements
- Blue Flags: Backmarkers are now physical objects on the track. They are no longer "ghosts" to the leaders, but they correctly move off the racing line under blue flags.
- Safety Car: Fixed the movement direction of the Safety Car on counter-clockwise tracks.
- Technical Fixes: Fixed the bug allowing slicks in the rain, adjusted tire wear calculation in practice, and fixed the issue with free wing repairs during pit stops.
See you on the grid!
